Mara Krotec Baginski is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 16+ years of experience and training in medical, mental health, managed care, private practice, healthcare, outpatient (hospice & homecare), and inpatient treatment settings (hospital & skilled nursing) while working with diverse populations treating individuals, families, and groups.
Mara graduated summa cum laude from Chatham University where she earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree with a concentration in biochemistry. Mara also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Social Work earning a Master of Social Work and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Mara completed a Graduate Fellowship in Gerontology through the New York Academy of Medicine & the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education.
Mara is experienced in the treatment of grief and loss, prolonged grief, depression, anxiety, substance use, and pain management using a holistic, biopsychosocial, and spiritual approach in practice. Mara is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, Positive Psychology, Psychoeducation, and Motivational Interviewing.
Mara is also an experienced Guest Lecturer for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine & The University of Pittsburgh Graduate & Undergraduate School of Social Work.
